Hi I'm Cristian Castillo

I was born in Mexico, but I grew up in California. I love sports, and also the outdoors, being healthy and active is a passion

About Me

I was born in Mexico, but grew up in California. The first part of my childhood we lived In a rough area, my parents then realized that I was hanging around the wrong crowed. They made the smart life changing desicion for me and my younger siblings, we move from that area to a calmer part of California. That was when I started to play sports and make friends with the youth of the ward and stake. I became a big fan of soccer and football, those two sports kept me out of a lot of trouble. I also was always taught that we have to work hard in life to be able to achieve our goals, it not always easy, but it sure feels good ounce you achieved them. I always had serving a mission as a big goals in my life, at time I would take 5 steps forward and 3 steps back. Life does get rough at times but if we give it our best we will achieve anything we put our heart and mind to. One of my biggest goals is to be the best dad I could be and the best husband I could possibly be. One day also take a rode trip in an older car around the U.S.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because, my father decided to provide a better life for his family. He met the missionaries at a farmers market, they gave him a card that said "free video and Book of Mormon". My father decided that we would call it and he did. The missionaries not shortly after that visited him and shared the gospel with him, my father was baptized not long after that initial visit. At that time me and my siblings and mother where in Mexico, my father wanted to share this wonderful gift that he had recieve which was the gospel with us. He sent missionaries from Mexico to visit us, they did meet with my mother, and with a lot of prayer and fasting we where all reunited with my father in California. Not long after that my mother was baptized, we where all sealed in the Oakland temple. I was baptized at the age of eight by my father. My fathers example has helped me out in the roughest times, and without it I wouldn't be where I am now. I am a full time missionary helping out people like my father and mother where helped by missionaries. I do that because I know how much joy it will bring to the people I meet, it brought joy to my family, I want to share that gift with others. I could not be where I am at now if I'd done it myself. My family was a great support, and my friends where a great example. I know this gospel is true, I have no doubt in my heart or mind. I know life is not always easy sometimes its harder than we think, but we always have to know that this life wasn't ment to go through alone. We have our families and friends, but most important we have the lord always helping us with whatever we need in our life. When life gets to hard to stand, kneel. My name is Cristian Castillo I love sports and my family, and one day I want to be an example to my own children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others, in a way that we all can serve. That is by missionary work, I am a full time missionary for the Salt Lake City West Mission. I enjoy helping out the people who don't know the gospel and are ready to hear it and apply into their lives. Seeing someone who has had a rough past, but has realized that the lord loves all his children no matter what, and they can change through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Seeing people change and be transformed by the gospel, not just because we have shared this wonderful message, but because they have applied the teaching in their life, and have made sacrifices. That is when people make the biggest changes, that's what brings joy in my life, knowing that I was able to bring them that message, that I was able to be an effective instrument of the lord. Sharing the gosple is a marvelous thing, I strongly believe that we don't need a name tag to share the gospel we all can be missionaries in our day to day life. We can be the answer to someone's prayers.
