Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Walnut Creek, Ca. and joined the LDS church when I was 19. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a father of 7 and grandfather of 19. I am a college graduate and have a BS in education and a master's degree in sports psychology. I played football in college and it was a dream to play in the pro's but due to my slow speed and size I decided to join the Army. I graduated from the ROTC program and was commissioned an officer in 1964, I am a Vietnam Veteran, and spent 4 years in the Army. I have run many businesses as an independent owner and contractor. I worked in the furniture and design industry for over 40 years. Most recently I have run a mobile food business here in Utah plus manage a self storage facility. My life is very full of joy now that I have traveled so far on this highway of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the church when I was 19. I was greatly influenced by my future mother in law by here standards and how she lived her religion. As a LDS she was full of goodness and love for so many. I took the missionary lessons in the fall of my first year in college and joined the church. I look back at that time and choice and know that it changed my life forever. I have a testimony that grows everyday. I love this church and know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He has given His life for my sins and yours. He has taught us the way to go and if we will but follow His example we can find true happiness and joy. I believe that the prophet of the church, Thomas Monson is a true prophet of God and receives revelations for us.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities with my church from scout master, missionary, teacher of both youth and adults, home teacher, councilman to the stake I am in, leader in various men's organizations and played men's basketball for my Ward. I love to serve and can be counted on to be a volunteer when asked.
