Hi I'm Shania

I'm a busy country kid and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Little about me. I Love horse back riding, assisting with my karate class, and hanging out with my crazy friends. Winter you'll find me either on the ski hill or sleeping under a blanket. Summer best bet is im at the lake, sitting on a tractor or assisting at a rodeo. I grew up on a ranch constantly outside and with animals. Before I went to college I repaired homes inside and out. Top to bottom. Not he most pleasant job but lots of fun. I'm now in college learning to build/design and properly draw blue prints for buildings. In a nut shell im a small town girl in a big city. Counting down the days when I get back to the wild outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. My mom was raised Mormon and my father was not. I have seen both sides of the fence but I have not lived both. I choose to remain a Mormon because of what I have learned and what I feel. I was never forced to be a member. I remain active in the church because I came to a knowledge of my own that the things taught are true. That my Heavenly Father knows and loves me personally and that he has a plan for me. I know that through the atonement all man kind can be saved. I know that there is life after death and that I can see and be with my loved ones again. I know that family's can be forever. I know that nobody is perfect including myself but mistakes can be forgiven and washed away. I know that we can have a spiritual companion with us at all time on this earth as we are worthy of its presence. I know that I matter and that everyone on this earth matters. We are all brothers and sisters and should treat each other as such. I know my Savior lives and I know that this gospel can change lives.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day. Growing up very few people knew I was a member but they did notice something different. I feel the best way for people to understand or wonder about Mormons is to show them who we are without pushing it on others. Every week I attend a institute or religion class to learn and be uplifted on a different day other then Sunday. At home I used to be the youth president over the young women. Going out and learning/ teaching life skills. Keeping an eye out for the younger girls. Giving service to those in the community and just learning how to have good clean fun.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons are known for helping everyone at any time and in any place. being Mormon doesn't reserve you for special treatment. we are taught to love everyone and to treat everyone as we would want to be treated. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a boy who wanted one simple answer to one simple question. he wanted to know what church out of the many to join. he prayed and received an answer to join none for none of them were completely true. with the guidance of God the father his son Jesus the Christ he was able to restore the church to its fullest. he did not do this over night this too him years. he went through more tribulation and trials and persecution then anyone should ever go through. he dedicated his life to restoring the gospel and he sealed that mission with his blood. in grade 8 i wrote an essay on him and i came to a conclusion either he was nuts or he started one of the greatest things that could possibly happen on this earth. and since a crazy person couldn't set up something that has stood the test of time and brought forth so many amazing things i concluded it was one of the most amazing things in the history of the world. Joseph Smith was just a boy but that boy helped restore something to this world that will bless the world for years to come he restored something that has changed the lives of millions and will continue to change lives forever.
