Hi I'm Marilee

I'm a retired school principal who loves to read and travel.

About Me

I am the youngest of 3 children and grew up on a farm in Idaho helping my Dad by driving tractors, and hay, grain, and potato trucks. I married my high school sweetheart. We have 4 grown children, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. I taught high school English for many years and then became a principal of a small rural school and recently retired.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I had to be converted to its teachings and receive a spiritual confirmation of the truthfulness of its doctrines. This I have done through sincere prayer, scripture study, and by applying the gospel principles in my life and realizing that blessings that followed. I am so very grateful that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored in its fulness in this dispensation and that we have a living prophet today to guide and direct us just as people did in Biblical times. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon as yet another witness of Jesus Christ and his dealings with his people.

How I live my faith

My religious faith is centered in Jesus Christ, and I try to live that faith by learning about Him and following his example. I try to keep the commandments and treat others as he would have. Sometimes this is just greeting people with a smile or lending a listening ear. I participate in the women's organization of our church and help plan activities and lessons that are designed to increase faith in Christ and serve others. I am looking forward to serving a mission for our church.
