Hi I'm Caitlyn

I grew up in Europe. My passion is politics. I am a student. I am a disciple of Christ. I am a Mormon. I live it. I love it.

About Me

I am student studying poitical science and civic engagement. I spent my childhood traveling the world and meeting amazing people. I hope to use my degree as a stepping stone towards a life of service to others. I love to learn. I love to read and research and attend classes. I plan to take full advantage of every learning opportunity I can. Learning about people is particularly fascinating to me. I enjoy interacting with people from all backgrounds and cultures. I feel that being exposed to as many diverse opinions, beliefs and ways of life as possible is essential to my life as a people enthusiats. I care deeply for my friends and family and would do anything to make sure they know I love them. I like to spend my free time watching movies or going out with friends. Movies appeal to the couch potato in me and hold a special place in my heart. I think cinema has a way of moving people to action that speeches or written word sometimes lack. Going out with friends appeals to the adrenalin-junkie in me. I love to disco-skate, rock climb, brave the boundry waters, cliff jump, or just go shopping (finding a god sale totally qualifies as an adrenalin rush) with my friends and family. I love to make memories.

Why I am a Mormon

I never doubted the existence of God. Even when others brought me "evidence" that there could be no such being I could feel the truth. It took me many years to develop the desire to know if the Mormon church I had been attending my entire life was true. When I finally felt the need to know for myself, I rediscovered the incredible truths I had been taught. Families can be together for eternity. We have a loving prophet who communes directly with God to guide us today. Christ suffered for my sins so that I could repent and return to my home in heaven. God is my Heavenly Father, the literal father of my spirit. He cares for me more than I can imagine. I have a purpose. He has a plan for me. Years of beautiful and sacred teachings entered my soul. I am a Mormon because to be a Mormon makes me happy. I am a Mormon because I love His gospel. I am a Mormon because I love Him.

How I live my faith

I put God first. That isn't to say I am perfect at it, because I'm not, but I really do try to keep Him in my heart in all I do. I try to serve Him by serving His children. I've worked with countless service organizations of varying backgrounds (everything from helping out the Catholic church's homeless program in my town to volunteering on election day at the polls). I prioritize the emotional, physical, and social needs of my friends and family and hope to convey at least a small portion of the love that God and Christ have for them through my actions. I serve in my local congregation. I teach, I participate, I support, I smile. I stand as a witness of the atonement of Christ, of the love of God, and of the truth of His gospel. I live my faith by living my life.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Caitlyn
Mormons believe that Christ atoned for the sins of everyone. We believe that through His atoning sacrafice we have the opportunity to repent, be forgiven, and return to our Heavenly Father again. When Christ's ministy was concluded on earth He left the responsibility of His church with His apostles. Apostassy ensued. Chrst began to restore His church through the prophet Joseph Smith. It is through him that Christ reestablished truths and ordinances that were lost during the Apostasy. We believe that all churches contain special truths of His gospel, but we believe that only this church holds the preisthood, the power of God on earth. It is through the preisthood we are able to partcipate in ordinances such as baptism and eternal marraige. Mormons believe in upholding the teachings of Christ and in loving all of God's children. We believe in obeying the commandments and following the example of Christ. We believe in Christ. We believe in His gospel. We believe in a Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally.
