Hi I'm Shauna Thornton

I grew up in California. I am on a mission in Virginia . I love to sing and the color blue. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to watch and quote movies! My most favorite activity is singing, i am always singing! I am also some one who has taken four years of choir in high school and some in collage as well. I went to my home town college and am studying business. I hope to go to cosmetology school after my mission and also Finnish my business degree as well! I love the summer sun but i hate the heat. I love the winter too. I have a big mixed family four brothers and three sisters. I am the youngest one of them all and the first to serve a mission! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at 8 but was converted twice. 1st when i was a sophomore in high school and i knew that this church wasn't just a church. I knew that Joesph Smith was a Prophet and that he restored the church. I was struggling when i moved from California to Utah and then back to California in a short period of time. I was confused and angry. I didn't have any one really to blame so i blamed God. I didn't feel comfortable in church and i rarely wanted to be there. I felt alone and unwanted. So one night I prayed. I pleaded with my Father in Heaven to know if the church was true. It was a short time after when I went on a youth activity called "Trek" It is where the youth walk and carry hand carts just like the pioneers. It was there when i found my best friends and when i knew everything would be okay if i trusted the Lord. My prayers were answered. The 2nd time was - It was easy to live like a "Mormon" at the time because most of my friends were LDS too. I knew that i felt good when i was following the standards the church had set and i knew that good things came from God. My friends all moved one by one until i was one of the only people in my school who was LDS. I had to stand up for what i believed in and was bullied for being LDS. I started to doubt if the church was true and if the standards were really there to help me. I still went to church and Did the things that i was "suppose to do". I found out my senior year that this church and its wonderful standards are there to keep us safe. They are there to make us better people and make our lives better. They are there to keep us on the path to our loving Heavenly Father. Soon after i had the experiences to fortify that testimony i knew that i was called to serve a mission. I couldn't and could never doubt that this church is true. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and that i can be perfected in him. I know i have a Father in Heaven who wants me to return to him. I love who this church helps me become.

How I live my faith

I am on a mission in Virginia! My purpose is to bring souls to Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, Baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. When i was home i taught the Gospel Principle ( Its a Sunday school class.)class for my little branch. I try to do as much service for others as occasion allows! I am all for helping those in need and serving, I grew up working in a grape farm about twice a year to farm grapes to turn them into raisins to send them around the world to help the less fortunate. I love teaching about the restored truths of this gospel! I love to make people laugh and magnify my talents and callings! I read the Book of Mormon, Bible, and i pray as much as i can to come closer with the Savior Jesus Christ and God.
