Hi I'm Søster Camille Ackerman

I am a Minnesotan who has a passion for dance, nature, and puzzles, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like a lot of people, I have always loved to dance and to play the flute. I also really enjoy reading, especially anything to do with fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction. I've wasted plenty of time on Netflix and I wish I hadn't. I love going out and trying new this with friends and family. But unlike most people, spending time outdoors, whether it is hiking, camping, or just looking at the stars is one of my favorite ways to just relax and to put my life into perspective. When I have the time, I love to do puzzles because I love seeing the finished piece, especially on an extremely difficult one, and remember that it is possible to do hard things if you are determined and willing to look at things from different perspectives. I loved my old job when I worked in a daycare and was just able to spend my time playing with children. I am a college student majoring in exercise science to become a chiropractor.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church and the gospel makes sense. The more I learn the more it just seems right. I've grown up in this church and I have many ancestors who have grown up in this church. There have been times when I have really struggled and I have questioned whether this church is really true, but I keep coming back to it, although, not because of this history I have with the church. I stay with this church because it is true and I can't deny that I have felt and I truly believe in what it teaches. It gives me peace and joy, knowing that whatever mistakes I've made can be erased and that there is more to life that what we live here.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am a missionary for my church in Copenhagen, Denmark. I am taking a break from my schooling in college to have this adventure and to share the happiness and joy I feel because of this gospel with others and their families. Everyday, I strive to be an example of the Lord, Jesus Christ, by loving those around me and lifting them in any way possible.
