Hi I'm Kaela

I love my family, love to travel, and love anything to do with physical fitness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest in my family of 5 girls. My family and I are from New Zealand but have gone back and forth between Utah and New Zealand. I am very active and love doing any activity outside. My hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, basketball, volleyball, soccer, running, and cooking. I also love to spend my time with my friends and family relaxing at the beach. I have put my studies at BYU Hawaii on hold while I spend the next 18 months serving a mission in Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I've grown up my whole life being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, their was a time in my life when I really had to see if this was the true church and if everything my parents had taught me were true. I didn't want to rely on my parents testimony, but rather I wanted to find out for myself. So I prayed and God answered my prayers in a way that I cannot deny that this is the true church. The spirit that I feel when I pray and read from the Book of Mormon testify to me that this is the only true church on the earth today. The love that I feel from God overpowers me when I pray, and I feel such joy and happiness from the gospel. The gospel offers a happiness that can only be found if we are living the commandments of God, praying, and doing what's right. I choose to be a Mormon because of the peace, happiness, and comfort the gospel brings to me and because of the overpowering love I feel from God.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve my church by being the pianist during sacrament meeting. I also live my faith by trying to be an example of Christ to those around me. Christ set the example of the perfect life, and how we should live; so I am following his example and trying to be just like him. I am also taking a break from my studies at University to serve an 18 month mission to Brazil. This is also a way in which I will live my faith. I will be representing Christ, and teaching all those that I come in contact with about Christ with the hope that they may be able to experience and feel the same joy and happiness the gospel brings to my life. I want others to have a knowledge of the things that I know are to be true such as eternal families, the plan of salvation, the atonement, and the love God has for each of us here on earth. I love my Heavenly Father, and he has blessed my life so much, that this is a way in which I can show my gratitude for everything he has blessed me with.
