Hi I'm Channelle

I'm en route to be a doctor, I love colouring books and ice cream, and I'm Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Canada - I moved to Dubai with my family when I was 13, to China when I was 18, and to the US a few months later to get married and begin school! I'm majoring in human biology at BYU-I, with plans to move on to U of U for DPT next spring after I graduate. I'm all about jammin' on the piano, eating ice cream, blogging, and going for a swim - my husband and I also plan to run a marathon this fall, so cross your fingers for us!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 13, my parents asked me and my four siblings how we would feel about moving to a country on the other side of the world - one that we had never heard of. Initially we were all very excited, not knowing the kind of struggles this project would entail. After arriving in our new home, it didn't take long before I started to hurt - I missed my friends, I missed my cousins and grandparents, I missed my school and my country, and I became pretty miserable. Months passed in this sullen mood, before I'd finally had enough - something needed to change. I remember sobbing in my bedroom - typical of a 14-year-old girl. I turned over to see my copy of the Book of Mormon on the side table; drying my tears, I picked it up and decided to put to test the faith my parents cherished so dearly. Starting with the first verse of 1 Nephi 1, I read. Verse after verse, chapter after chapter, my heart yearning so desperately to find a constant in a world of chaos. In less than two weeks, my prayers were answered and I knew - Jesus Christ lives, and I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

I attribute 100% of my success and happiness to my faith. The more I centre my life around what I believe, the happier I am and the more I seek to serve those around me. I get up early to read the scriptures, pray to my loving Heavenly Father, and fill up my spiritual needs for the day. I attend church and the temple on a weekly basis, but with all that my Savior has done for me, I'm sure to remember Him throughout each day of the week.
