Hi I'm Chayston Brown

I have grown up in Utah, I love camping and baseball. I am always finding ways to serve others in my community! I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love my family so much, they are so important to me. They help and support me so much in everything I do. I love to go camping, hiking and four-wheeling! In general being in the outdoors is something that I really enjoy! I also love sports and I play baseball for my highschool. After I return from my mission I am going to try to go and walk-on to a local university and play at the next level. The reason I won't be going on a scholarship is because I chose to serve a two year mission and most schools, or at least the ones I've talked too, won't hold a scholarship for that long in advance. Right now I am serving my mission, and I LOVE it. It is an amazing experience to be teaching others about the Gospel that has blessed my life so much!

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of this gospel and of prayer specifically. I know that when I pray I can truly speak to my Heavenly Father and tell him my feelings and struggles then look to the scriptures for my answers from him and through the Spirit I can know those are my answers. I'm so thankful for a plan that Heavenly Father set up for us to return to him in the Celestial Kingdom with eternal life. A plan based around the Atonement. The atonement which allows us to repent of our sins and be clean but also the ENABLING power of Christ to help us endure to the end. I have a testimony of the Book Of Mormon, I know that it is another testament of Christ on Earth. I know that both the Bible and Book Of Mormon together hold the fullness of Christ's gospel. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ when he prayed with a sincere heart and I know that through the power of God he was able to translate the Book Of Mormon and restore Christ's gospel in its fullness and was a true prophet that spoke to Heavenly Father often about what direction the church should be led. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet of God on this earth today and Heavenly Father speaks to him and guides him with revelation to guide the entire church. I have a testimony of the peace and inspiring feelings you can have when in the Temple, I truly feel that it is The House Of The Lord. I know that serving the Lord will be the most challenging and exhausting thing I will probably ever do, but I also know that I will grow more during these two years of my life and grow my faith in so many ways as well as help others learn to have true faith and follow Christ.

How I live my faith

Usually, I am found serving the elderly in my ward with seasonal work such as lawn care, snow shoveling, leaf raking and anything in between. When I am not doing that I spend my time studying the scriptures so that I can better participate in the lessons I hear on Sunday in church. But, right now, on my mission I strive to live my faith 24 hours a day 7 days a week and be as obedient as I can to His gospel. It is very difficult but I know as I strive to do my best, Jesus Christ will lift me up and help me conquer any trials in my life. I love to share my testimony and I bear it as often as I can, usually once a month in testimony meeting. I know that one way to build your testimony and Faith is to share it.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Chayston Brown
Simply, the Atonement of Christ is how we can return to Heavenly Father. It is the center of Heavenly Fathers plan for us. Without the Atonement, which allows us to repent for our sins that Jesus Christ has suffered for on our behalf, we could never return to our Heavenly Father. We are taught in the scriptures that "No unclean thing can enter God's presence." It was necessary for Jesus Christ to give His life and suffer for our sins because He is the literal Son of God. He is the only being that could come and live a perfect life and create the perfect Atonement. Through Him we are all forgiven and blessed incredibly. Show more Show less
