Hi I'm Stephen

I live in Idaho, I love the outdoors, I enjoy sports, family time, and my church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy playing basketball, and I run track and cross country as well! I was never the best at any of those sports, but I loved participating and making new friends. My favorite hobby is four wheeling, especially on hills or mountains. I really enjoy boating when I can go, and I like camping as well. I have recently taken up snowboarding and that's fun too! I'm definitely going to be doing more of that in the future. I like spending time with my family. At home we play card games and board games and do fun things. Every couple of years, we have a huge family reunion somewhere that is always a blast! We might go camping, or celebrate the 4th of July, or go to lakes... whatever we do, its lots of fun, we all love each other, and there is always enough food!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a witness that it is true. When I was ordained to the priesthood, or the authority to act in God's name, I felt a great peacefulness and warmth pass through my entire body. It was a witness from the Holy Spirit telling me that what I was doing was real, that I really was receiving the actual priesthood on the Earth today. If that is true, then that means that the people who gave it to me had to have received it from someone else who had it, and so on; because of a man named Joesph Smith, I today hold the priesthood. He received it through angles, who received it through the Lord. It was passed down until I received it.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith by actively participating in Church programs. Our youth church program, called Mutual, is really great! We do all sorts of activities: games, service projects, camping, Boy Scouts of America, dances, lots of fun things! I also have the great opportunity to serve a mission for my church. This consists of leaving home and dedicating 2 years of my life to the Lord, going where he sends me. Where I go is determined by revaluation through a modern day prophet and apostles. I will also be funding the entire mission myself, through summers and jobs worked in preparation for my mission.
