Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Murray, UT. I love a great joke even though I'm not good at telling them. I am an excited Mormon.

About Me

I get the opportunity to serve in the Japanese language in Kobe, Japan. I love to play all types of sports. My favorite things to do include hiking, going on tandem bike rides, playing the piano, and getting a Slurpee from 7/11. I am the 2nd youngest in a family that has 6 children. I will head to college right after I get home from my mission. I am hoping to do something in the medical business field one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel. It never changes in a world that changes from the time I go to bed to when I wake up. It has taught me all of the values that I need in life. Everything that we learn in the gospel can apply to everything we do while still here on this Earth. I play lots of sports and I have learned that working hard is the right way to success. The Church teaches the exact same thing. I read the Book of Mormon when I was around 14 years old and I took the challenge to ask Heavenly Father if it was really true. He answered and said "Tanner, you already know it is." Our Heavenly Father knows each one of us personally. He loves us. I am a Mormon because I want the blessings that come after this life. I love the fact that I have an example to follow and a direction to go with my life because I am in this church. I don't have a complicated testimony I just know it's true and I know that I want to live with my family forever so I am just here doing my best.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve a mission this summer. This has really changed how I have viewed everything in the church. I love being a Melchizedek Priesthood holder, but I do miss blessing the sacrament and knowing that if I am not worthy then I cannot make someone else take on the Sacramental Covenants that come when you partake of the Sacrament. I use my faith each day at school as I have been taught to love everyone. I am nowhere near perfect but I am learning how to be a friend to all. This has been the best thing for me because I have been taught to be a friend to all I am learning to get out of my own comfort zone. I have also learned that I have no idea what someone is going through. I love hearing other people's life stories. Because of my faith in the church I have a place in where I am going in life. I have a reason to be here.
