Hi I'm Colin

I'm from Southern California. I love to be outside and to play music. I'm studying to be an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am amazed by beauty of nature. I love hiking in Southern Utah and backpacking in the Sierras, and one day I will hike the PCT from Mexico to Canada! I love listening to music, and will try any kind of music I can get my ears on. I play my favorite rock songs on the guitar, and I love playing classical music on the piano. I am the eldest of four children and I love my family a lot! I am a college student who is looking to major in engineering, probably Electrical Engineering. Maybe. We'll see how it works out for me. What I can say for sure is that I love to learn and push myself in new ways. I love being at school, surrounded by both old friends and people completely new to me. One day I think I'd like to get a PhD and teach at a university.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope and a feeling of peace in life. There are times when I feel that I am not important or that I am not good enough or that I am alone, but knowing that I have a Father in Heaven that knows me and loves me makes it easier to get through those times. The Gospel has helped me to grow closer to my family, which has made an amazing difference in my life. I see how members of this church form a strong community where people help each other and lift one another up, and I feel that there is something here that is special. I love this church and all it has done for me.

How I live my faith

At church, I frequently play the piano or organ in our meetings. I will sometimes teach lessons during Sunday School when I am asked to. I don't always feel like I know enough to be able to teach a lesson to a group of people, but I try to ask good questions to make people talk, and my lessons seem to go pretty well. I am about to serve a two year mission for the church in Mexico City. I will be away from my family and friends for the duration of my mission, but I am willing to do it because I love the Lord and believe there are people that need to hear the message I have to give!
