Hi I'm Lochlan Phillips

I grew up overseas for eight years. I have a degree in Communication. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 22 years old and a recent college graduate. I have a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. When I was two years old my family moved overseas for eight years. I had the opportunity to broaden my awareness by learning about different cultures. It is my hope that I can travel with my future family so that we can experience and learn together as we grow as individuals and as a unit.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but through my own trials and relying on the Lord I was converted to knowing it to be true. I KNOW that I existed before this life and will continue to exist after. I KNOW that I was personally trained by my Heavenly Father in order to be prepared for the challenges, trials, opportunities, adventures, and blessings this world and life have in store for me. I KNOW that it is through relying on Him and following His path that I can continue progressing and achieve true joy and eternal life. Being a member of this church is the best way I know to be happy. It doesn't make life easy, but it makes it purposeful. It is about more than just enduring to the end, but enjoying the journey.

How I live my faith

I attend a singles branch for young adults who are 18-30 years of age. We meet together throughout the week for a variety of activities, including Institute where we gather to discuss certain chapters of scripture. I was recently called to be the Institute President and have loved the opportunity to ponder and prepare for each week's class. It has helped me gain a deeper understanding as I am able to learn from my peers as they share their insights and personal experiences. Through becoming comfortable talking with my peers who are members, I have also become comfortable being able to talk about my faith in all aspects of my life. I have been able to use my experience with Communication to share my beliefs on Social Media and write for an LDS focused website in order to continue Sharing Goodness on an almost daily basis. Being a member of this church is a responsibility and an honor, which should not be taken for granted. I try to live all aspects of my life so that those around me don't just know I am a member but also know why I'm a member.
