Hi I'm Melanie

I'm an "Army Brat" and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Due to being a child of a military father, I've had my fair share of moves. I have lived in Hawaii, New Mexico, and Oregon. I am the youngest of 4 kids to my mother and father. I grew up playing soccer and even though I was injured and cannot play anymore, it is still my passion. I love fishing and my dad and brother are jealous of my fisherwoman skills (I always seem to catch the biggest fish first). I have an addiction to books, I can devour through a novel a day if im not running around with my friends. When I return from my mission I hope to go to college to pursue a career in the medical field. My dream in life is to travel to all the continents of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon gives my life purpose. Everyone at church is my family. This religion makes me happy and makes others happy as well. The knowledge the church has brought me is something I can't deny, nor would I want to. I'm Mormon because following Jesus Christ has shown me that Heaven is an attainable goal to reach, not just for me but for everyone. Living by the example of the Savior has helped me to be selfless, and to serve my fellow men and women that they may know that this life is meaningful and that we are not alone.

How I live my faith

Previously I was the president of the girls my age and over the younger girls, and I helped come up with fun activities and service projects as well as coordinate activities with the young men. Now that I'm graduated from High School I help organize activities for kids. I volunteer to help with church outings along with events in my community. I am currently waiting to serve my mission as a representative of the Mormon faith.
