What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The purpose of Church welfare is to promote self-reliance and to care for and serve the poor and needy. For assistance, recipients are encouraged to work (when able) so that they are blessed and can bless the lives of others. Work is a guiding principle in the Church's welfare program. Because of the welfare program in the church, , we gain knowledge of how to find ways in sustaining the needs our families and it also help the members of the church how to become more self reliance and what are the advantages of being self reliance, , ,and also they learn how to manage temporal things based on the needs and wants of each families, specially to the poor and the needy.
