Hi I'm Sarah

I was raised in Northern Virginia. I am a recent convert to The Church

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University studying English Language (Linguistics). I am involved with The International Folk Dance Ensemble which showcases dance forms from literately all over the world. I enjoy reading, music, and needlepoint. I was raised in a Jewish household that believed that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. My mom is a pastor with non-denominational Christians.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have never felt such peace and happiness in my life. I have only been a member since February of 2014. I lived a pretty good life. My mom is a pastor in the Non-Denominational and Messianic communities so she taught me what it is like to be a faithful disciple of Christ. When I started studying The Book of Mormon for a class at Brigham Young University, I knew there was something special about this book. I went to church with my best friend and prayed about the truthfulness of The LDS Church and The Book of Mormon. With tears in my eyes, I knew that The Church is true. A couple of weeks later, I called the missionaries in my area to start my lessons and I got baptized about three weeks after that. It was a hard first year for me. My mom, although supportive, was concerned for me because she didn't believe in The Church. She was my hardest critic but also my greatest support. I have been a member for over a year and just received my call to serve a mission in Houston, Texas. I am so excited to teach Christ's Gospel and help people receive the same joy and peace I have felt since my baptism.

How I live my faith

The main way how I live my faith is by being a good example to others. I stand by what I believe even if it unpopular. I also try to encourage others to live their faith too. I am a ward missionary and that is the main thing that we do.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Sarah
We believe that Christ's grace is what allows us to be cleansed of our sins so that we can be with Him forever. Grace is the unconditional love that He has for us. Grace not only gives us remission for our sins but it gives us our true identity. We are the sons and daughters of Heavenly Father. We are part of Him. Grace allows us to let go of worldly ranks and judgements. Show more Show less
