Hi I'm Mark Gessel

I grew up and live in the Salt Lake City area. My wife and I have 4 Children and almost 5 Grandchildren. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a civil engineer and design water treatment equipment. I am the father of 3 sons and 1 daughter. I am the grandfather of 4 boys and 1 girl. I am currently serving as an Inner-city Missionary with my wife. I love the outdoors and do a lot of hiking. I love the Lord and His Gospel. I am grateful for my life everyday. I am a micro-finance lender. I serve others because I know we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father. My hobby is to help young adults with personal finance and planning for the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. I am part of a great legacy of good, faithful people who joined this Church after hearing the Gospel from the mouths of humble missionaries. One of these sacrificing missionaries was my great grandfather who left a pregnant wife and 2 small children to bring the Gospel to the good people of the southern states of the United States. The Lord restored the fullness of the Gospel through His servant Joseph Smith. I know this is true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is where we can find all the ordinances of salvation. As a Mormon, I have dedicated my life to serve others and help them qualify for the rich blessings of eternal life. I close with some of the last words of the great Nephite prophet Moroni, " And now, I would commend thee to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in thee forever.

How I live my faith

I ask the Lord each day, "What would you have me do today". This helps me know how I can help and serve others. As an Inner-City missionary, my wife and I, help people with any temporal or spiritual needs they may have. From finding a better job to explaining the purpose of life.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Mark Gessel
The purpose of the Church Welfare program is to help people be self-reliant in all aspects of their temporal and spiritual life to the point that they are then helping others to accomplish this. Show more Show less
