Hi I'm Stephen Shenfield

I enjoy working outside as a Forest Officer in Alberta, Canada. I'm a cancer survivor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in various parts of Alberta, Canada as the son of parents who were Forest Technologists. As a result of my upbringing, I gained a love for the outdoors and pursued a career in Forestry. I recently joined our local volunteer Search & Rescue team and hope to broaden my skills while providing a special service for those in need. I also survived two occurrences of colon cancer in the past 4 years and continue to learn and grow from my experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know within my heart it's right. Every experience, including battling cancer, has provided me with the conformation it's the right choice.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the young men at church and enjoy teaching them skills which will benefit them as they pursue both temporal & spiritual goals. With surviving cancer twice, I have gained a better understanding about the meaning of life and have different priorities than I did previously. Although I may not earn as much as others in my field, my career provides the time with both my family and current church responsibilities.
