Hi I'm Rachael

I learned to dance in the rain of Seattle, I am a people-person, a chocoholic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children which means I'm the boss! I grew up learning to figure things out on my own because I would have to do them first! I grew up in rainy Seattle but my parents always taught me to have a sunny disposition! I love singing and dancing and have participated in seven musicals! One of my favorite pastimes is just sitting and talking to friends and family. I want to be an Elementary School teacher and currently am halfway through college! My dream is to help my future students understand their potential and reach for the stars!

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the opportunity to be raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Because of my faithful ancestors, I did not have to go out and search for answers to life’s questions, they are answered in this church. This church has showed me my true identity, a daughter of God and has given my life purpose. Even though I was born into this church, I know for myself that it this church is true. I am reminded of that truth when listening to a hymn or when reading my scriptures because the spirit touches my heart and fills me with peace. I don’t know where I would be without this knowledge, and I will be forever grateful for those that learned about the church before me. I am a Mormon because I know this is Christ’s true church restored to the earth and I want to share it with everyone I meet!

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints doesn't just mean that I was baptized. Being a member of this church means that I have decided to follow Jesus Christ and try to do so every single day. I show this to Him each time I say my prayers in faith, read my scriptures diligently or stand up for my standards. I show others how Jesus would act through my example, i.e. dressing modestly, speaking kindly to others and my behavior toward others. As a favorite song goes, "I'm trying to love my neighbor, I'm learning to serve my friends." I live my faith by putting aside things of little value or temporary pleasure and focusing on those things of eternal importance like family and my relationship with God. Even when looking at everything we stand for and have the responsibility to do, these clear standards provide more freedom and joy than I ever expected. I know that as I live what I believe in, I am happier and that the blessings promised to me are poured out.
