Hi I'm Dinorah Naveiras

Honduran and Cuban by heart!

About Me

I'm just a floridian living the word of God and improving by day and night with the help of our amazing family and friends, including our missionaries! I wouldn't have been here sharing my story if it weren't for their amazing spirit and uplifting stories!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church for about four years now. Growing up, I was never really so interested nor really close to God. I've always been a stay at home kid and had to be dragged out to different churches because we didn't really understand anything being taught. We were only told that it was God's church. No explanation whatsoever. Years have gone by and I wasn't a member of any church, all I knew was that if my mother and father are catholic, than so am I. The first time I encountered missionaries was by accident. All my life, I've lived in a small part of Calle Ocho in Miami and in all my time there, I have never seen a pair of missionaries or even heard about LDS, even though I lived a couple of blocks away from the church. It was never really something I would've imagined I would be in, I remember passing by the church and wondering what kind of place it was but never really had the time of day to stop and look. When the missionaries came to my door, I remember them asking for my mom which at the time was sick so I had to be the one to talk to them. I knew from that moment as soon as we sat down and began talking about the word of God, I knew this was something I wanted to learn more about. I was young, so everything made sense and I could literally paint a picture every time the missionaries spoke to me about their love for the savior and how much they'd like to share it with me. I, of course, agreed to everything and knew that this gospel was nothing but the truth the minute I was handed The Book Of Mormon. Everyone doubted me and thought this was just a little temporary thing. But as I keep reading and kept going each Sunday, I knew this was going to change my life for the better. And here I am now, feeding four (maybe six) missionaries, learning to repent and preparing myself for my mission. Life couldn't be more great!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in the sacred sacrament every Sunday and by living and breathing the word of God each second of my life. I am reminded constantly of my saviors love for my family and I thanks to the word of God and most importantly because of the missionaries who's helped us through so much and have been there every step of the way. Because of the mighty power of God and because of the work of the holy spirit, my family and I have expanded not by blood, but spiritually.
