Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up in Washington state. I'm an interior designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a commercial interior designer and absolutely obsessed with what I do. I love color, space, form, and I love it when a plan comes together. I've lived in Washington, Michigan, and Alaska--I love the outdoors and going new places full of different people. My husband and I are starting a brand new adventure this summer when our first baby is due. But in the mean time we enjoy playing and watching sports, and my husband claims I'm a little bit of a nerd. He's probably right. I love science-fiction and fantasy, museums and school, board games and video games, fashion and pop culture. And the things I don't completely love, I love learning about.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into a loving, supportive family. I grew up learning about the Gospel, and I see examples every day of the way it affects my life. I love the sense of community I have at church, and the emphasis the Gospel places on family. Family has always been very important to me--from the time I was a little girl, to starting my own family now. I take comfort in the belief that my family is forever. That when we die, this life is not the end, but that I can be with my family forever. I believe that God loves us all--that we are ALL children of our Heavenly Father. I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior, and that this is His Gospel. I believe His atonement offers me second chances when I make poor decisions. That when I truly repent of mistakes that it's as though they never happened. I also believe He is there to offer me comfort through hard times. We all have hard times. I know I certainly have. But I know that I can do hard things. I know that every trial and difficulty I have had, I have learned because of them. I am stronger. I am better. I believe that God won't give us trials that we are not able to endure. I believe that I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me. I believe in modern prophets. I believe that they receive revelation from God in how to guide and direct us in a turbulent world. When I follow their counsel, I feel like things in my life are suddenly very clear and simple. I truly believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored by Joseph Smith. I am grateful for the sacrifices he made to do so. And I am grateful for the Book of Mormon. When I read it, it truly testifies to me of Christ, and the type of person He is, and the type of person I should try to be. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday. My favorite part is being able to take the sacrament and renew my covenants with the Lord. It makes me feel like I start every week with a clean slate. Another part of the Sunday meetings is a women's meeting where I get to meet with other women attending church that day. We discuss concerns and help support each other. I also have an assignment to visit with women in our congregation outside of church. I love the opportunity this gives me to visit them every month and make better friendships.
