Hi I'm Emily

I love to travel and to volunteer. I taught second and third grade at a school for orphans in Kenya and loved it! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three older sisters and a younger brother, and my siblings are my best friends in the world. Family is so important to me, and I love mine with all my heart. I love to read and to be outside. I'm currently studying to become a social worker and I would love to work in child welfare.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is what brings me the greatest joy in my life! When I pray, I know that God is listening, and I know that He answers my prayers. It helps me when I'm going through a difficult time to know that I can always talk to my Heavenly Father and He will always answer my prayers. He always knows exactly what I'm going through, and He's always loves me. Right now I'm preparing to serve a mission in San Diego, California and serve at the San Diego Mormon Battalion Historic Site so I can help other people find the peace and happiness I have found through the gospel and my relationship with Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I think one of the most important ways to live my faith is to treat others how Christ would treat them. I do this by mentoring at-risk fifth graders, working with an orphanage in Kenya, and working as a Resident Assistant on a college campus where I can help my freshman residents to learn and grow. I also meet with other women in my congregation through a program called visiting teaching, so I can help them feel loved and appreciated and know that there is always someone who cares about them.
