Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Utah. I love athletics, reading, friendships and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to learn. I am currently enrolled in college courses within high school. Most of these classes focus upon the medical field as I want to become a Pediatric Hospitalist or something in that related field. Basketball is my favorite sport. I have been playing since I was old enough to grab a ball. I have been on the school team every year possible. I also play football, soccer, and other sports non-competitively. I love to read. I try to read about 3-4 books per month. I have 3 brothers and no sisters. My home is always laughing as my older and younger brothers have very funny personalities.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have grown up in the LDS faith my whole life. My great grandparents were converts to the church but ever since then my extended family has been stalwart members. I first found out how strong my faith and testimony was when I was 15 years old. My brother had just left on a mission to Malaga, Spain. I was unsure about whether this church really was the true church but when he left I knew I had to find out for myself. I prayed and asked Heavenly Father for a few weeks, I finished the Book of Mormon in a month and have since completed it 7 times, and I finally received an overwhelming feeling of love. I cannot describe how powerful this feeling was. It brought tears to my eyes and happiness to my heart. It was not a vision of angels or a miracle of healing, but to me, It was just as powerful. This Gospel is true! It is the only true Gospel on the Earth. No one shall stop the progression of this work! I don't know the type of person I would be without the Gospel, but I do know that I love who I am because of the Gospel and wouldn't change it for anything.

How I live my faith

I try to live the standards and teachings of the Gospel as best as I can. I have very few friends who are not LDS and because of those friends living the standards becomes much easier for me to as well. I often participate in ward service projects and help those that are members and non-members alike. I go to church activities through out the week, such as young men's or boy scouts on Wednesday nights. I go to church every Sunday and actively participate. I have a hometeaching calling with one of the older members in my ward and every month we go check on three families to make sure they are alright, give a lesson, and offer service if needed.
