Hi I'm Julia

I love learning, service, and hiking. I hope to go skydiving some day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a nursing student at Brigham Young University. I love science! Studying even the simplest of things I can see God's hand in their creation. I served my mission in Las Vegas and it was wonderful! I never planned to serve a mission until one day at BYU I just felt like I should consider serving and from that point on everything fell perfectly into place. I hope to be able to travel the world and gain a better understanding of other people and cultures. I had the wonderful opportunity to live in several places in the United States while growing up including Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Texas, and North Carolina.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel (what Jesus Christ taught) is true. I didn't really know for sure until I was seventeen and learned that I needed to have brain surgery. Because that procedure had a very low success rate, I knew I needed as much help from Heavenly Father as I could get. That experience quickly drew me nearer to the Lord as I learned to sincerely pray and study the scriptures. It helped me change my testimony from believing in the truthfulness of the gospel to knowing that Heavenly Father loves me as He loves all of His children. He wants what's best for me, so he sent His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be my advocate so I can return to live with Him again through living His gospel. Recently I have reflected on something Mormons call the Restoration--we believe that the church Christ established in his lifetime was changed throughout time after his death, but it has been restored and organized as God wants it to be. The blessings that come from the Restoration are real. I have experienced more peace and happiness in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints than I have anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I love helping others improve the quality of their lives. I try to participate in as many service events as possible. I think being Mormon is a lifestyle, not just a three-hour Sunday thing. I try my best to be a disciple of Christ.
