Hi I'm Scott

I was born in the South, I love my family and my friends, I am a ballroom dancer, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have an amazing family. My siblings are my best friends, and my mother and father are the greatest! I absolutely love spending time with them. My friends are awesome! They are the answers to so many of my prayers. I feel really blessed to have them in my life. They are a huge part of me. I am about to go on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I could never fully explain how excited I am to go and serve! I definitely suggest going on a mission to anyone who is thinking about it or has even heard that it is a possibility. I haven't even gone yet, but I can feel so much peace and happiness in my crazy life whenever I think about it. How I rejoice; knowing I can serve the Lord and be an instrument in His loving hands. I am the president of the ballroom team at my school this year. Ballroom is something I love so much. For me, it is a way I can express myself and make others happy. For anyone who wants to get a workout (haha) and have a lot of fun, I'd strongly suggest taking up Ballroom. Hey, it's a great way for someone to spend time with the opposite gender (which is a big plus in my opinion!). If I was asked what means the most to me, I'd say without hesitation, my Heavenly Father, my Savior, and everything to do with the LDS religion. I have no idea where I would be without Them/it. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am a Son God, and there is no room in my life for me to doubt that HE KNOWS AND LOVES ME. He loves us all.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Gospel gives me peace in this world of uncertainty and trial. I feel like the Gospel has given me hope of a better tomorrow, and an assurance that no matter how hard life gets, it will ALWAYS get better.

How I live my faith

I am a member of our Seminary Council at my school. The purpose of a Seminary Council member is to plan activities for/in Seminary, and to encourage students that are not in Seminary to enroll. I home teach a few families in my ward with my dad. Although I have these callings, I believe that the greatest way I live my faith is by how live my everyday-life. I try to be the best I can be, and live as an example to others, even if no one is watching. To me, that is truly living a faithful and meaningful, blessed life.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Scott
The Bible is so fantastic! It gives us incredible knowledge about Prophets, the Beginning, our Savior, and Heavenly Father. It is indeed an amazing book. Wouldn't it be wonderful for us to have a greater knowledge of the things the Bible teaches, and even more? Well, we can have that greater knowledge! That is what the Book of Mormon is for. The Book of Mormon is not to replace the Bible in anyway. Rather, it is to expand our knowledge of Holy things. For example, we can learn a lot about Ancient Rome by reading a web page about it, but we can learn even more about Ancient Rome by reading that certain web page AND another website. Rather than just receiving information from just one place, we can get information from another place, therefore furthering our understanding and knowledge. The Restoration is an absolutely vital part of history because it has made it possible to receive the FULLNESS of the Gospel. Show more Show less
