Hi I'm Nathan

I was born and raised in Willard Missouri. I am a Pre-med student studying Exercise Physiology at BYU-Idaho, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life. I am 23 and have been married to my wife Natalie now for almost a year. I have loved every moment of it. There are twelve kids in my family, the one I grew up with, and growing up in that atmosphere was really awesome. From this family is super important to me. Not all of my siblings are members of the church anymore, each of them making their own choices. I am studying to go to Medical School to become a pediatrician. I love playing sports, reading books, and being outside.

Why I am a Mormon

Like I said before I was raised in the LDS church, so I had these teachings taught to me as a child. When I started high school I had a ton of really good Christian friends that were great influences on me. We would have some really good discussions about what we each believed: the relationship we had with Heavenly Father and Christ, what it was to live the gospel, what was going to happen to everybody after this life, etc. Most of my friends, even though they knew me told me that I was going to go to hell if I continued to be a "Mormon." Obviously I had no desire to go to hell so this really troubled me. I figured that I would turn to God and ask if this was true. My answer was a few months in coming. For me it came while I was reading the Book of Mormon, which we believe is another set of scripture that testifies that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior. I was wondering if the words in it were true, and if they were true is the LDS church true as well. Like I said I had been searching for an answer for months and I felt like I hadn't received any inclination that it was true at all. When I did receive my answer it came all of a sudden and I have never had such conviction about any other thing. This was a new feeling for me and I knew that the Book of Mormon was true as well as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is why I am a Mormon today. Another big reason why I am a Mormon is that I am truly happy in my life. No one is forcing me to be a Mormon; I like being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am in a congregation where it is mostly just married couples who are attending school at BYU-Idaho. In this congregation was asked to be a teacher in helping married couples become better parents and spouses. It's been really cool because while I am teaching I get to learn a lot myself. We have a lot of things/activities where we get together and have fun as well learn a spiritual message of Christ.
