Hi I'm Amy

I am a pre-nursing student at BYU. I love to play tennis. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hello, I am a 19 year old, tennis playing, painting, reading, soon-to-be missionary. I grew up in a family of 8. That's six kids, two parents, two dogs, eight cats, a billion fish, a horse, a turtle, two hamsters, a shark, a frog, and a bunny. And I'm the oldest. Life in a big family can be a blast, but it can also be chaotic. I love to go to the lake with my family, have big family barbecues, watch Disney movies and jump on the Trampoline. I am currently a college student, hoping to be accepted into a nursing program after my mission. I love all things sweet, crafty, and funny. And I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. But I stay in the church because of the peace and joy I have found here. This being said, I definitely have doubts, but my testimony is confirmed every time I focus on Jesus Christ.. Because I have always been surrounded by the gospel, I often took it for granted. But as I have spent time reading my scriptures and praying for answers, I have felt and know the truth of the gospel because of the calm that comes over me, bringing peace to my life. I know that He's there and that he watches out for us. I know that he loves us more than we can imagine. I know that he placed us in the circumstances of our lives so that we can grow and learn. I also know that those experiences allow us to help and sympathize with others around us. We are meant to help others. That's why it feels so good to serve. I know that President Monson is a true and living prophet, guiding this church today. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I have felt its power and I know of the peace it brings in my life as I study and apply its principles to my life. This is an amazing gospel and it can and does bring amazing blessings!

How I live my faith

I have been lucky to serve in many capacities in the church. My favorite calling was to be a Youth Counselor at a Special Needs Mutual- an LDS youth group for people with special needs. While there I was given a friend that I would spend my night with. My sweet friend was an incredible example to me of our Heavenly Fathers pure love because she gave her love so unconditionally. One night we saw a boy who was overwhelmed and sad. She constantly kept looking back at him with a worried look of her face, until she turned around and said "its OK, you'll be OK." This small and simple gesture may not have quieted down the little boy but it left a big impact on me. I am grateful for her and this calling. Another thing that I love to do is go to the temple. I love that when I walk through the gates, even just to walk on the grounds, every thing just disappears. I can breathe and think, and most importantly pray.
