Hi I'm Madison

I grew up in Utah. My goal career-wise is to become an animator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an artist, from a very young age I've had a love and passion for drawing. Before I decided to serve a mission in this church I was attending college with the intent to get a Bachelor's degree in animation. I'm 24 years old and live with my parents, I love my family and have been very blessed to have them in my life. When I was 18 I dropped out of high school and since then it's been tough to sort of regain my motivation. I got my GED when I was 21 and started going to college when I was 22.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, my parents also. Though it wasn't until I was about 20 or 21 that I really knew it was the true church. I was often bullied in school, so I had a really difficult time loving myself during childhood. Eventually I started to believe the things that other kids said about me. I began to hate myself and I began to develop a very toxic depression. As time went by things steadily got worse. I can't say that it was all bad. I had some really good experiences as a kid, but my perspective and view on life was such that it didn't really allow me to truly be happy. In a nutshell I began to experience suicidal thoughts, at the time I had no idea just how much God loved me and how much I had been given. When I was at the breaking point, I took a leap of faith and fell to my knees in prayer. At that moment it was as if the darkness that threatened to consume my very being as I contemplated taking my own life dissipated entirely, it was as if someone had turned on the lights in a room that was so dark you couldn't see your own hand in front of you. At that moment I knew that God was real and that he loved me and everything that I had been taught in church throughout my life was seen in a new light. I know that God lives and that he loves us so much that he sent his son to save us from our sins. We need only believe in him. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the gift and power of God. I know that Jesus is the Christ, and I wish to invite any who read this to search the Book of Mormon with real intent, that you may know God's plan. Once you have gained this knowledge, put it to the test in your own life. Don't just read the Book of Mormon, live it! When you do this I promise you that you will receive a fullness of joy. I know that Jesus is our Savior and I testify of these things in his name Amen.

How I live my faith

I try my absolute best to go to church every Sunday, when I go I'm always trying to learn what the Lord is trying to tell me through his servants. I go to a missionary preparation class every Tuesday evening in order to learn as much as possible before leaving to serve my mission. When attending class I try my best to take notes, and also take every opportunity I can to share what I have learned through scripture study and living the principles of the gospel.
