Hi I'm Jacob Samuel Jensen

I was born on the Coast, grew up in the desert, and love to study the Cosmos. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I'm Jacob! I was born in Miami, Florida and moved to El Paso, Texas at the age of 7. I love the outdoors, anything from swimming, to camping, to hiking. I love the beauty of this world, especially mountains. I completed a year of college at Brigham Young University, and I love learning new things. I love Astronomy, being able to study and learn about the beautiful Universe that God created. I love playing any kinds of games, especially ones that involve strategic thinking. Above all, I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I love learning about it more and more every day of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised on fantasy. My parents always taught me to do the right thing, and I always listened to stories of heroes saving the day by choosing to do the right thing. I learned more about how grand our Universe is, how amazing our world is. I was still missing something, and that something came when Missionaries decided to start teaching me. I learned about heroes in the Book of Mormon. I learned about a prophet named Nephi, who overcame all odds by having the courage to do what God told him to. I learned about Captain Moroni, who lead his armies into battle to defend his country and the freedom of his people. I learned about Alma, who at first was not a good man, but was then changed by Jesus Christ, and then went on to become one of the greatest missionaries who ever lived. I learned about heroes in our time. I learned about Joseph Smith, who, despite being persecuted and hurt many times, restored the Church of Jesus Christ to the Earth. I learned about the plan that our God has for us so that we can return to Him. After I had learned all these things, the missionaries invited me to pray to God and ask to know whether all these things I had been taught were true or not. I prayed to God and asked whether these things were true, and when I did, I felt peace, and my mind was clear. I felt the Spirit, and it told me that these things were true. Even after this, I didn't change completely. I still wasn't making the best of choices, and yet, the Lord, in His infinite mercy, decided to once again change my life. Through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I was able to change. I got rid of all my bad habits, and found happiness. I am a Mormon because this is the Church of Jesus Christ, and I know I want to follow Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep the commandments and by striving to have charity and love towards every person I meet. I do my best to learn the teachings of the gospel, and I love teaching and sharing what I learn with everyone else. I teach Sunday school in my ward, meaning I teach the other members of my church about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also study the gospel my pursuing my education. By learning more about Physics, Astronomy, and Mathematics, I learn more about the marvelous universe our God has made for us, and I see how much our God loves us.
