Hi I'm Truman

Living in Utah. I ski, I bike, I love the outdoors and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a college student at BYU. I Undeclared major. I love being a part of a university and community that has the same beliefs and are such amazing people. I learn more about the gospel everyday. I love skiing and biking and doing things outdoors and in nature. I also love music very much whether it's playing it, listening to it, watching it.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I love it and it is the thing and church that makes the most sense to me. It answers my questions and makes me feel like a better person. I realize that nobody is perfect. Being Mormon has helped me understand that every individual is different and unique and learns, behaves, believes, and goes through their own personal trials and down the path that makes them happiest. That is why I love being Mormon. It teaches me and allows for growth. Personally, I believe growing up in Utah has been difficult to get around some of the cultural aspects. Sometimes people in and outside of the church will tie our culture in incorrectly with the gospel principles which can lead to confusion and cause people (member or non-member) to be hesitant about the church. But we must remember that there is a line between gospel principles/doctrine and the culture; and that it is okay for someone to have different cultural aspects.

How I live my faith

I support my ward members, local officials, and authorities in their callings. I keep the commandments given to me and obey my peers and leaders. I strive to do things that will uplift me spiritually. I try to do my part as a missionary. I respect and understand the beauty and nature of our planet and existence and can connect my scientific understandings to religious and doctrinal beliefs. I realize that nobody is perfect. I understand that every individual is different and unique and learns, behaves, believes, and goes through their own trials; and that is what I love I strive to be as least judgmental as possible after learning through personal experiences.
