Hi I'm Rob Johnson

I am from Northern Minnesota, I am a convert, and I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Rob Johnson and I am a full-time missionary in the California Fresno Mission. I grew up in a small town in Northern Minnesota and I am a convert to the church. I have always loved history and geography and I love Star Trek a lot too. The most important things in my life would have to be family, friends, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm from Minnesota, I'm in my mid 20s, and I will be serving as a full-time missionary in the California Fresno Mission. Is this where I anticipated I would be? Absolutely not. I was not born in the church and I never expected to be a member. I never even really knew a member. After high school I entered a really tough time in my life. Nothing was going the way I wanted it to. At one of my darkest times I had something amazing happen. Some missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came into my place of work wondering if they could buy some quarters so they could do their laundry. The Elders and I talked for a little bit and we went our separate ways. About ten minutes later they brought me a copy of the Book of Mormon. It was very nice, but there was no way I was going to read that. Within a few days my dark times got way darker and those missionaries came back to my work to see if I would meet with them. So I agreed to meet with them without any real intention of showing up. As the day of our meeting approached I had the feeling I should read the Book of Mormon, pretty much because I wanted to prove it wrong and have something to say to those missionaries about it. I began reading and I could not stop reading. I read all through the night until it was time for our meeting. I continued reading until they pulled up next to me in the parking lot. I had never read something so full of love and truth in my entire life. I agreed to be baptized probably within 20 minutes because I had no doubt that this was the right path for me. It's absolutely amazing how everything got so much better. About 6 months after that I began planning to serve a mission. My life was changed forever by missionaries and my desire is that I can help someone change their life for the better as well. That is why I am a missionary and why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith is not something I have part of my life once a week. It's something that is part of me at all times. I love being able to serve others in any way that I can. I have had the privilege of being able to take part in the missionary work being done around my hometown and also teaching classes at church. Most recently I have been called as a full-time missionary to California. Most of all I live my faith by trying to do what is right at all times and by showing the joy that comes to my life by living the gospel.
