Hi I'm Stephen

I love creating music. I served a mission in Nauvoo playing the clarinet. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a loving and happy family. My mom and sisters all love music and either sing or play an instrument. I started to grow a love for the clarinet and saxophone when I was in Junior High and as I perform more, my passion and love for making great music grows. I actively participated in Marching Band in High School. I continued playing Clarinet in college and performed with the BYU marching band and symphonic band. Music will always be part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! I feel so happy and joyful when I study God's word and I strive to live this gospel. I have seen so many miracles and know that God is involved in my life. I have always been taught since I was young about the scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, I have learned for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true because of the peace and joy I feel from it. I know because I have read the scriptures and prayed to God to ask him if this is right and I have felt so much joy and peace from doing this. The gospel brings so much light into my life and I gain a stronger purpose from it. I am a Mormon because of what I have felt and because of the miracles I have seen in my life.

How I live my faith

I strive to prepare myself as best I can to go and serve a mission. The last three months, from May to August 2015, I served as a Young Performing Missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where I went to Nauvoo and performed in the Nauvoo Brass Band. Nauvoo is a place where early members of the Church lived in the 1830s and 1840s. There, I had the opportunity to share my love for this Church through music and through word. I learned of the sacrifices that these early Pioneers made in their lives and how many sacrificed everything they had and even died to have and preserve religious freedom. Serving in Nauvoo gave me a stronger love for this gospel and a greater appreciation for the freedoms I have. I am now preparing myself to go serve a two year mission where I invite others to come unto Christ so that they can experience the joy and peace that comes from this gospel. I am so excited!
