Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Holladay, Utah and attenting BYU. I'm studying illustration and called to serve in the Tonga Nuku'Alofa mission.

About Me

I'm Emily! I have grown up in an art family. My dad is an illustrator and has been teaching me all about art ever since I can remember. I love to paint with oils and draw with anything. I've gone on to BYU to study illustration. I hope to one day become a freelance illustrator or an animator. I love the outdoors. I'll do anything to get to the mountains whenever I can, no matter time of day or season. I love hiking, rock climbing, and most of all traveling. I love exploring new places. A few summers ago I saved up my money to go on a humanitarian trip to Fiji to build bathrooms for a village called Yavusania. Since Fiji I have had a love for the island culture. I have actually recently been called to serve a mission in the Tonga, Nuku'Alofa mission and I couldn't be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this church is true. There have been times when I've wanted to deny the truth of it, but the evidence in my life is too great, and I cannot. Despite what the world may think, this gospel gives me more freedom in my life. On top of everything it makes me so incredibly happy.

How I live my faith

In my church I have been given the assignment of teaching the gospel to ward members (sunday school teacher). In preparing my lessons I've come to realize how this gospel relates to everything. It relates to biology, to history, and art. In studying these subjects with the gospel in mind, it creates a deeper level of learning for me. I can see things from a perspective that there's more to this life than most think. The Holy Spirit and help me learn and teach me deeper meanings.
