Hi I'm Quentin Nelson

I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm a perpetual student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well first off, I love the outdoors! Having lived in Idaho all my life, there are so many mountains to climb, rivers to cross, forests to explore, and trails to hike. The beauty of the wilderness is just stunning and inspiring. I have completed about 2 1/2 semesters of college between my semester at BYU-I and AP credits earned in High School. Learning is such a privilege and one that I quite enjoy, especially if it has to do with History or the Arts. Knowledge is such a powerful tool and influence and I work to obtain as much as I can that will benefit me in some way. I love music and the way that it can make us feel. The joy and pain that music expresses speaks to the soul. I have been in choirs for the past few years and nothing brings me more joy than to sing songs of hardship but also of persevering hope for a brighter future. We become one as we all strive to relay the same message and touch people's hearts. Music is heaven-sent and something everyone should have in their own lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormon faith, as many refer to us as) because of the love and knowledge that reside within it. It truly is God's Kingdom restored upon the Earth by Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have listened to the lessons in Sunday School and the teachings they present, I have poured my eyes for countless hours over the pages of the Scriptures, and have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me in my heart that what I have heard and read are true. God has a plan for all of us, but it is up to us to accept that Plan in this life, that we may live as He would have us live. And that Plan is only taught in its completeness within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know the Book of Mormon compliments and adds a second witness to the words of God contained within the Bible. I know the Mormon Church, The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, is lead by our Savior through His chosen prophet today. Beginning with Joseph Smith, I know that leadership has continued through the years and will until our Lord and King comes again to claim His saints who have accepted His call to repentance and who have endured to the end. God loves everyone. His Kingdom was restored in its completeness by Joseph Smith and the Mormon faith is that Kingdom. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Just as a person who makes their career they love into their life, so do I make my faith my life. I dedicate Sunday to my God. I attend Church to learn and grow closer to Him and spend the day with family, because family and the love that should accompany family is the center of God's Plan for all of us. At every opportunity that I have to help someone with yard work, chores around the home, or an errand to run, I make a genuine effort to give them aid. I help with service projects, especially through the Boy Scouts of America. One of my favorite things to do in service is visiting the elderly. They have lived full lives and the stories and advice that they have to offer are so precious. The history that they have experienced and the progress that they have made for the world are carried on through us and our choices. I live my faith everyday through my actions. I choose to act as Christ would. I live the Christian faith by doing as Christ would do and feeling as Christ feels. I abhor sin and hunger after righteousness. Everybody makes mistakes and nobody is perfect, and that is the greatest call for service. We can't improve our lives if we
