Hi I'm Kisha Stephenson

I was baptized on December 8th, 2013. I graduated Highschool. I am going on a Mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am very easy to please. The little things in life make me happy. I love reading and writing, it is my favorite past time. I love my family and friends, they support me through everything and anything that I want to do. I love my dog Chloe (even though she is scared of absolutely everything). I love to learn, my favorite subjects are Science and History. I love putting things together and creating other things and learning how things are created. I also love learning about the past and how it directly affects the future. My favorite color is Purple, it has been for years now and I wouldn't change it for the world. (Only if I saw a much more...interesting color would I change it). I absolutely love my faith, I'm a Mormon and that has helped me come to know Jesus and his love for me as his sister. It has given me the light that I have been searching for my entire life. I will never leave this faith, it has brought me the greatest joy I have ever felt. Nothing will change that. :)

Why I am a Mormon

Well, when I was younger (10 years old) I was abused and neglected by my parents and older brother. Ever since then I never wanted to believe in a god... I mean, how could there be one when I was being tormented? Well, when I was 16 I was placed into foster care. I was moved around 3 times until I came to live with my foster family that I was adopted into. (They were Mormons). Now before this I had never even though about going back to church (I went when I was younger because my Bio Mother wanted me to). This family that I was staying at took me to their Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. At first I was skeptical because I was still angry but after a while, it grew on me. One day (it was my first summer there) I got the chance to go to a Youth conference. It was at Skyview High School and there was more than 1600 teens there. What converted me was when a young woman (she was unable to talk walk or do anything on her own) was able to stand there at the microphone and sing "I Am A Child Of God" like an angel. When I saw all 1600 teens stand up and give her a standing ovation... that is when I knew that this is where I belonged. The tears streamed down my face and I talked with every youth leader there about how to be a member. They all told me I would need to take the Missionary discussions and then get baptized and that's what I did. On December 8th, 2013 me and my sister Kimberly were baptized into the Mormon faith... and I couldn't be happier since... Well except for being able to serve a mission!

How I live my faith

I am the music chooser for the older women in the church (ages 18+). I choose which hymns will be sung that Sunday in that meeting. I help out with anything that I can in regards to living my faith. I pray often, read my scriptures, but mostly I try to be the best example to my family and to have the spirit to always be around me no matter where I am.
