Hi I'm Amanda

I grew up in Idaho, I am preparing to go on my mission and I'm so excited, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Disney and Marvel nut! I enjoy acting and singing. There is a certain rush I get when I can preform and get people to feel something or just to make them smile. Drawing and painting are also a hobby of mine as well as sewing. I get such a joy from being able to great something out of only a pencil and paper or fabric and thread. I love taking walks by the river where I live and going to the small shops near by. I'll be heading out to my mission soon and can't wait for it. My friends and family are such a joy and I truly love them. My two best friends are the craziest and nicest people you could ever meet. I hope everyone can fine friends who are just as honest and fun. My family is small just My brother and I with my parents. My brother is always there to make me smile and protect me and I love that we're so close. I have my faults but I don't let the little things get me down.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I was born into the church. My family are LDS and believe me, we are not perfect but as I grew up I saw how the gospel blessed our family and saw the priesthood work in our home. When I got older and was in junior high I didn't pay much attention to it all, the church seemed boring but my parents never pushed me to get a testimony, they only continued to help teach me about the gospel. I continued to go to church because that's what my family did together. But I never truly begin to get my testimony until I got into high school. I had a very hard time with high school. It was a struggle just to keep my grades up. then one day I began to pray more and read my scriptures and listen in seminary and take in the teachings. It was all so gradual but as I look back it was such a blessing. I knew that the Lord loved my the day I received my patriarchal blessing. The spirit was so strong in that room and I felt my Heavenly Fathers love, and I will never deny that feeling I received on that day. I learned that the Lord is my Heavenly father and he cares about me, he knows me by name, and he loves me. And Jesus Christ is my brother who died for me and for all of us, so that we can one day return back to our Loving Father in heaven. And that is why I am a Mormon. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by just trying to be like Jesus Christ and follow his teachings as well as following the counsel of the latter day prophet. Being kind to everyone I meet is one why I try to live my faith. Everyone on this earth is a child of God and should be treated as such. Granted i'm not perfect in this but when I truly try my best my day goes so much better and I don't seem to have many complaints about the day. As I prepare for my mission I need to work on living my faith ever day, with reading scripture and praying daily. Keeping myself dressed modestly and treating my body like the temple it is is another aspect I feel is important. I also do my best to not be afraid to stand up for my faith. In high school there were many moments when i'd be asked questions or an individual would seem to feel the need to belittle my beliefs. Now arguing never helps, so a simple answer is all i'd give unless I could tell that person was genuinely curious and wanted to know. being an example and following the commandments is how I show my light and live my faith. For faith without works is dead.
