Hi I'm Kimberley

I'm studying piano performance in college. I've studied abroad in Jerusalem. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father was in the Air Force throughout my childhood, so our family moved around the United States a lot. It was a good experience to meet lots of new people and see new places. I felt like moving brought me closer to my family, and it also gave me good preparation for going to college, since I had had practice making a good (and sometimes not as good as I'd like) first impression! I am studying piano performance at university, and on the side I really love taking dance classes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have tested the gospel by living its principles and seeing if they have changed my life. This gospel really has. I feel the Holy Spirit with me in my life when I am faithful in attending church, reading the scriptures, and trying to live as Christ taught. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon because I have read it and prayed about it to God, and I have received an answer that Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God. It is beautiful to me that God continues to speak to His children through modern prophets, and that saving ordinances like faith, baptism, repentance, and the receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost have been restored to their fullness as Jesus Christ taught them.

How I live my faith

I have been the pianist in church for a long time, off and on since I was about 11, and I love it! I try to play good music before church so that people might want to come earlier before the meeting starts. Another calling I enjoy is being a supervising the women's visiting teaching each month; the adult ladies are assigned to go and give a short spiritual message and chat with another woman in the church ward. Each month they would report their completion of the assignment to me, and I'd encourage them to do it throughout the month. It is really a wonderful thing because I have become good friends with the women I visit with. It's a long term assignment that I really think helps the women in the church become friends with people they might not otherwise have been friends!
