Hi I'm Joe

I grew up in Utah. I love to sing and express myself through music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a senior in high school. I'm the Choir President this year at my school and I love to sing. I wake up every morning and start to practice the piano at 6:30 am. I've played the piano for ten years and I love it. I enjoy participating in school musicals; in fact, in the most recent one, I played five roles and was onstage for most of the show. I've always had a deep love for music and this year I'm taking an AP Music Theory course to learn more about the way it works. I enjoy playing sports. I've played city league basketball and football for the past few years, and I have played quite a few random sports with my friends: rugby, quidditch, and ultimate croquet being just a few examples. I enjoy movies, reading, and various other forms of entertainment in the few minutes of spare time that I have each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I was raised in the Church. My friends are all members. But the most important reason of all is that I love the Lord, and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and if I follow his commandments that I will return to live with him again with my family after my death. I believe in the doctrines of the Church because they make sense. The Lord is infinitely merciful and loving, and his doctrines are taught in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. They are inseparable in intent and each lends clarity to the other. This could not happen unless God Himself was involved. I know the Church is true and I'm excited to share the gospel with others on my mission.

How I live my faith

I am an assistant in my ward for the Missionary Preparation class. I love learning about how to teach others the glorious gospel of Christ. I visit several homes with my grandfather (also in my ward) each month to bring a spiritual message and the love of the bishop to their families. I wake up each morning and read out of The Book of Mormon, and each evening I read other gospel materials and record what I learn in a study journal. I take a period out of my school day to go to a seminary class near the high school to hear the words of the Lord from the mouths of his servants, living and dead. I know that they are true.
