Hi I'm Robert Keene

Hello, I am a re-converted Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, most commonly known as a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest out of three paternal siblings, four step siblings and five half siblings. I was born a Mormon. All through my life I have been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, but have not lived it. Then when I was in my early forties I was converted, or should I say re-converted to the Church of Jesus Christ. I love the out doors such like, camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. I have found new interests in doing family history research and photography. I enjoy going to church, to the temple, and mostly spending time with my wonderful and beautiful wife. She is a true testimony to me that my Father in Heaven Loves me and wants me to succeed in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? This is a great and honest question. Why am I a Mormon with so many other religious beliefs and practices? What makes being a Mormon so important in my life? I have gained some personal knowledge and experiences that have solidified my belief that there is nothing else to be. First off a Mormon is a nickname that comes from the Book of Mormon. I believe that Our Father in Heaven lives, as well as is Son Jesus Christ. I believe that if this is God's church or Jesus' church then it should bear his name such as The Church of Jesus Christ. I also believe that if Christ's Church had Prophet's and Seer's and Evangelists and Pastors and the like back in his time why not in this time. Christ talked to his Prophet's so that they may lead and direct his church back in the old times and to call the people to repentance so why not in this day and age. For Christ said that he is the same as yesterday, today and tomorrow. I believe that since the Dark Ages when the Priesthood Authority was lost. That it has been now restored today by Heavenly Messengers sent down by Christ and that his church and Priesthood Authority is now present upon this Earth. That he does lead and guide his church as in days of old through modern day Prophets. These Prophets starting with the Prophet Joseph Smith down through and to Thomas Monson today. Therefore I am a Mormon and stand proud to testify of its truthfulness and that Our father in Heaven lives, That Jesus is the Christ, Our Savior, our Lord our King. The Jesus atoned for our sins in the Garden and died upon the cross, and was resurrected to break the bonds of death so that we may one day return unto him. I know that he lives. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true with the only true authority from God and Christ himself. This is why I am a Mormon and stand and bear record of this. In his Holy name Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Since my re- conversion into the church I have held many callings. I have been the Executive Secretary to the Bishop of my ward, Have been assigned to being a youth leader in Cub and Boy Scouts. I have also been the Stake Indexing and Family History Leader. Of course I have also been called as a Home Teacher as well as a Sunday School Teacher. You must realize that I am only human. I am not perfect and I don't proclaim to be. But I do try to live my life as best as I can. I try to remember my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ everyday by prayer, scripture study, and attending my meetings, attending the temple regularly, and preforming my callings to the best of my ability.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Robert Keene
Yes we believe the Bible to be the word of God. But we believe the Book of Mormon also to be the word of God. We believe that the bible is a Genealogy and history of the people over and around Egypt and Jerusalem and such. But we also believe that when Christ appeared again to his apostles and said to them that he must visit other sheep which are not of this fold, that he was talking about the people in the Americas. Hence the Book of Mormon which is a History and Genealogy of the people in the Americas. Show more Show less
