Hi I'm Kimball

I grew up in the Philippines. I'm a musician and a sports enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 21-year-old dude who studied Computer Science when I was in college. I graduated last March 2014. I didn't like my course that much but I enjoyed doing graphic arts. Then I started designing posters and shirts that I find cool and fun. As long as you love what you do, you won't ever get bored with it. But what I love doing most is to mingle with music. I love playing the piano. Though it was a bit of a tension playing for others, it was a nice feeling. I fell in love with it to the point that I tried asking my parents to send me to a music school for my college. They forbid me. But though the Lord brought me to another field, I know He got His reason, a very good reason. And I tend to know myself more because of it. I knew what I like to do and what fits me. I also mentor choirs for church meetings and conferences. I'm a sporty guy. Actually I'm not the other brethren who loves playing computer games. I just love ball games especially basketball. If given a chance, I would love to play as a pro. And I'm willing to train for it. It's my first love besides the piano. I also love television & movies. I love watching action-comedy films (i.e. Rush Hour, The Expendables, etc.), and some who investigates (i.e. CSI, Sherlock Holmes). I also love horror movies, most especially Insidious 1, 2, and the part 3 which is coming soon. I love being a member of this Church, this is where I find the greatest of joys one could ever find. And I know you will experience it too. Try it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church as my parents were married in the temple. I grew up doing what my parents are doing. And also I got baptized when I was 8 years old. But as I continue my journey in the Church I asked myself how to be truly converted. Do I really know what I am doing? How do I know if those things are right? How will I know if everything in the Church, including itself, is true? As I proceed with it, I went a bit astray as I did some wrong things in my life. This is because I don't have my own testimony that I hold. I just borrowed that testimony from my parents. And I went and explore things on my own. I lose my direction towards Him. But thankfully, because of the atonement of Jesus Christ I received forgiveness. It opened my eyes to the truth. Now I know that without Jesus Christ and His atonement we all could have lost forever. But through Him and in Him, we are redeemed. We can return to the presence of our Heavenly Father because of Jesus Christ's grace and mercy, and also with our actions and covenants made. Now I continue this wonderful journey as I received a sure testimony of Him. I know that I will be happy as I continue on this path. I now do these things because I already know why I do these. And I know that Jesus is the Christ. And He lives and guides His Church through His living prophets and apostles. I know that Heavenly Father loves us and is doing everything to lead us back to His presence someday. And by making and keeping sacred covenants and doing good works, we will receive eternal life. I know that the Book of Mormon is the another testament of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God who restored His Church and His gospel in the latter days. I know that we have a living prophet now by the name of Thomas S. Monson. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating to Church activities and doing things the gospel teaches me. Giving service to others means a lot. It gives us a warm feeling as we see satisfaction from those we helped. I tend to give simple acts of it like by just pushing somebody's car and other little things. Through service, we can help others see the light that we have. I love praying every day and every night. I know that as I pray, the Lord is pleased with me. It also gives me strength as I face everyday challenges. He also gives me guidance through the Holy Ghost as I live righteously. I know that as I pray, I talk to my Father in Heaven, and He will definitely bless me. I love reading and pondering the scriptures. I helps me to know and love the Lord more. It gives me insights on what my Heavenly Father plans for me and what He wants me to do for it. I love partaking of the sacrament every Sunday. This is where we remember Jesus Christ's atonement for us. We also renew our covenants or promises we made to our Heavenly Father when we are baptized. Partaking of the sacrament tends to have more meaning for me than before. Now I know that because of the atonement, we can be cleansed from our sins through repentance and baptism. And because we will still make mistakes while we're here on this earth, He gave us the gift of repentance and the sacrament so we can do better and improve ourselves in line with the Savior's teachings for the coming week. Going to the temple is the best! I go there once a week. I love going there and make sacred covenants with my Heavenly Father. It always gives me the greatest boost to do anything. Even just by walking around the temple grounds, you will already feel His presence. How much more if you can go inside to commune with Him! The temple is literally the house of the Lord. I know that it is important not only to be active in going to Church for activities and stuffs but also it is important to live the gospel genuinely in our lives.
