Hi I'm Alyssa Armstrong

I am a musician, a soccer player, a missionary serving in Romania & Moldova, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Why hello! My name is Alyssa, and I love smiling, laughing, and living life to the fullest! I'm a college sophomore with absolutely NO idea what I am going to major in, but I do know that I want to travel around the world and help other people. I play piano, guitar, and I was the senior class president at my High School! I was born into an INCREDIBLE family, and I love them more than anything. As the oldest child in my family (and the only girl) i've learned a ton of things from my younger brothers! They've taught me how to camp, play soccer, look at life in a positive way, and just have fun in general! I received my mission call to the Romania/Moldova mission, and I am loving it!!! I CANNOT express the sincere motivation I have to declare the great abundance of happiness this gospel and Jesus Christ can bring! I have seen it in the lives of the people who I have taught and continue to teach, as well as in my own life. I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is TRUE, I know it with my whole heart and will stand by it forever and always.

Why I am a Mormon

If you have ever felt alone, left out, sad, heartbroken, or disappointed, I am right there with you. Life can be the worst sometimes. There have been many moments where I've felt completely discouraged, hurt, downhearted, and felt complete loss of hope. I've made so many mistakes, gone through many trials, and at times, there have been moments when feel l haven't gone through enough. So many people go through so many hard things, and it can be difficult to not ponder the question, "Why?" I've learned however, that this is where the Savior comes into play. HE IS THERE! And He will be, every step of the way. He was there when my brother had cancer, He was there when my uncle left, He was there when I got a D- in my History class, He was there when I was sitting alone eating lunch, and He will be there for me and YOU in every trial, heartbreak, hard time and good time. Jesus Christ is our supporter, our rock, and our friend. He wants us to succeed, be truly happy! I testify that "However late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, you have not traveled beyond the reach of the divine light and love of Christ," (Holland) I testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is TRUE. The Savior, Jesus Christ, loves us with an infinite, special, unique love, and He will always be there for us! I invite all to learn more about Him and our loving Father in Heaven, as well as this inspired, correct church, for I know with all of my heart, that it is indeed true!

How I live my faith

Often times, we hear about a certain "light" or "happiness" that people have. I had always longed for that. After several years of being not as involved in the church, I felt unhappy, lost, and in the dark. I could tell something was missing. I knew that I needed to change, and so I decided that I was going to do all I could live my life according to the standards and expectations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Once I began to do so, I felt that light and happiness both overwhelmingly and sincerely. It is honestly the BEST feeling. If you pray to your Father in Heaven, read the Book of Mormon, and do your best to make good, righteous decisions with true, real intent, you'll feel the same warm feeling and joy that other people and I have felt. I continue to this day to pray, read my scriptures, attend the temple, and do all I can to love and serve others; I cannot even imagine going back. The happiness that comes from doing these things is TRUE, REAL, and POWERFUL, I wouldn't trade it for anything! I am currently on a mission for the church, and it has been such a blessing to live my faith EVERY DAY! We can do the same even when we are not on missions! I encourage ALL to learn and seek out the truthfulness of this gospel, for I promise and God promises that it will be more than worth it.
