Hi I'm Madz

I was born and raised in Saint George, Utah and am currently serving in the New Zealand, Wellington mission!

About Me

I love to do anything active, I grew up playing all types of sports but found my love in the game of tennis! Growing up in southern utah gave me the opportunity to be outdoors often and I soon grew to love the beautiful red landscape. I moved to Denver, Colorado after graduating high school and lived out there for nine months selling pest control in the summer and then attending Colorado State University Pueblo in the fall with a tennis scholarship. I only attended for a semester and then felt I really needed to serve a mission. Preparing for my mission involved moving back home to southern Utah going through the temple and later becoming an ordinance worker in the temple. That is one of the best decisions I have made to help prepare me for a mission. I have been called to serve in the New Zealand, Wellington mission and love this beautiful country.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the gospel brings me happiness and joy. It's so comforting to know that I am never truly alone, my heavenly father and Jesus Christ love me and are always there for me. I have personally felt happier when I am following the commandments and doing what I am supposed to. I know that this church is true with all of my heart, and I could never deny that. I'm grateful for the Book of Mormon it is truly the best book out there I love it so much. I know that if I ever have a question I can turn to the Book of Mormon to find the answer. It brings so much peace into my life. I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it. I can't wait to share the knowledge that I have of this gospel with others, when I serve a mission. I also know that prayer works. The power of prayer is amazing and our heavenly father will always be there to listen to us and answer our prayers. No matter what he will always be there. I love our prophet Thomas S. Monson, and know that he receives revelation for us daily on our behalf. I know that the words he speaks are directly from god, to help us with our trials and to help us stay on the right path. I love to read conference talks given by him and his apostles. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died for us so that we could return back to our father in heaven and we can be forgiven of our sins. He paid the ultimate price so that we don't have too, and that brings me so much comfort. I love this gospel with every fiber in my being, I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being engaged in my ward and stake activities. I make it priority to go to the youth activities every week and make sure I am present at church every sunday. I also have a family history calling in my stake. I am a stake youth family history trainer, so that means i go around to each ward and teach the youth how to find their ancestors to take and baptize at the temple. I love my calling so much it has brought so many blessings and opportunities into my life. I also attend mission prep every week. It is a hour long class that my stake president directs to prepare us to serve missions. That is my favorite class on sundays!
