Hi I'm Elisa

I grew up in Southern California. I love art and music. I'm serving a mission in Historic Nauvoo, Illinois and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big home schooling family, where I grew up learning how to enjoy family unity and the blessings of the living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I served the first 5 months of my mission in Nauvoo Illinois. I was in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission for the winter and I'm now back in Nauvoo, finishing up my mission and loving the work of the Lord more and more everyday! I've been described as a huge creative/art nerd with a soft side for nature with hippie tendencies of using essential oils and cuddling with large dogs in my backyard.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church under the care of faithful parents. I continue in this faith because of the Holy Spirit, the direct conduit that links us to Heavenly Father, help me to know that this Gospel is true. God has answered too many of my prayers to not be real. I've repented and felt Christ's atonement lift the weight of my sins. I've read the Book of Mormon, by which I've discovered the divinity of the calling of the Prophet of the Restoration, Joseph Smith, which results to the conclusion that this is the only true Church of our living God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Also I just love church and the sacrament a lot. It all makes sense to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to serve my Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of His love for all mankind, he suffered all manner of pains and afflictions. I feel that dedicating 18 months of my life to Christ is the least I can do to repay him for all of the things that he went through on my behalf. As a Missionary, my purpose is to invite others to come onto Christ. So everyday, I am talking to people about their faith and where they are at with Heavenly Father. If they feel like they're missing out on something, I'm there to help them find the truth and guide them to the Savior. The Lord called me to serve and I am answering that call with all my heart, might, mind and strength!

What are Mormon temples used for?

Temples are a sacred and beautiful place where we make promises with our Heavenly Father. In the temple, we can be sealed to our family, not only for the time we spend here on earth, but for all time and all eternity. Show more Show less
