Hi I'm Joshua Engle

I grew up in Florida and Texas. I love playing guitar and I love the gospel! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a guy who loves to be outside! I was born in Florida and raised in Texas, and have developed a close affinity for the great outdoors in both places. Like any other person who's spent their entire life near water, I've developed a lifetime love for fishing! Even the worst day out fishing beats the best day of work for me. I've also been a 6-year convert to the fine art of playing guitar, which has doubled as a hobby and as a bit of a passion for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love God and I love my family. One of the most awesome things about this Church is that it teaches about how we can be united with our families in the gospel in both this life and the next. I can't think of a happier version of Heaven than sharing it with my current, past, and future family. I also love the Book of Mormon and the Bible, they're both gifts from God and allow us to grow closer to Him and find peace in this life as we live out their teachings. I have found so much peace and hope for the future by living the gospel in m life as an active church member and turning to Heavenly Father to strengthen me in both my trials and my daily life. I'm a Mormon and proud to be one.

How I live my faith

Like any other LDS member, I try to put my religious beliefs into action to the best of my ability. I worked as a Ward Missionary, going out with the Church Missionaries and doing my best to share what I know to be true. I also would visit a less-active member of the church with my best friend to visit and provide service. I'm now blessed with the opportunity to be a full-time missionary, serving as a Spanish-Speaking Missionary in California.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Joshua Engle
As a member of a church that believes in continuing revelation, to both Latter-Day Prophets and to us individually as His Children, I know that we need to develop a personal relationship with Heavenly Father. He is both all-knowing and all-loving, and wants to bless us with His help so we can live with Him again in the next life, along with finding peace in our current life. One of the most common ways he does this is through the Holy Ghost, which acts as a messenger for Heavenly Father when we're able to listen. (See John 16:13) To do that, we need to be both physically and spiritually in tune with the Spirit to receive guidance and answers to our prayers. In the New Testament, Paul had described our bodies as a "..temple of God" and that "the Spirit of God dwelleth in you..." (1 Corinthians 3:16) Temples are holy places where we can receive revelation through the Holy Ghost because they are built and cared for as God wanted them to be. Our bodies are the very same, and as we adhere to the Word of Wisdom, given from God to a modern Prophet of our time (as outlined Doctrine and Covenants 89) our bodies will become temples in which God's Spirit can dwell, to help us find answers to prayers and receive guidance in our lives.
