Hi I'm Issa

I was born in El Salvador, I love spending time with my family and the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. I've now been in the U.S for a little over 11 years. Though I still miss my country, I have learned to love this country and the great opportunities it's got to offer. I'm studying to become a Financial Adviser but will be serving a mission soon In Georgia- Spanish speaking! I love my country, El Salvador. I miss our delicious food: riguas, atol de elote, quesadilla, and our famous pupusas! I love being outdoors, feeling the nice warmth of the sun on my skin and I love crafts: drawing, painting, gluing, sewing.. you name it! I've been blessed with wonderful parents and now strive to excel in all I do to make them proud!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Catholic, surrounded with Catholics. My father was the only member of the LDS faith, since age 11, but went inactive during his teen years. In El Salvador my family and I seemed to be living the life, or at least that's how it seemed to me as a kid. We frequented the beach on weekends and had the best holidays driving to see our family in Jucuapa, filled with cousins my age and big open yards to do as we liked. When I was eight my parents took the decision to move to Los Angeles, California in the U.S.A. and my brother and I were faced with the challenges of having to assimilate to a new culture, people, and language. After surviving in central Los Angeles with the little bit of English we knew we eventually moved to Ogden, Utah... where the missionaries found us. After their first visit, it was blessing after blessing pouring into our lives. My father came back to the church and baptized my mother and me. We then faced the trial of being ignored by our family in El Salvador because of the decision we had made. But the Lord kept blessing us, by providing us with friends in our ward that supported us and showed us love through this hard time, and He eventually softened our family’s hearts and communication with them sprang up again. I LOVE the Gospel and I LOVE my Savior. Though life is tough at times, because I have the Gospel in my life, trials have been less difficult to endure and overcome. The Gospel has changed my perspective and made it Eternal! This life is for men to be tested and prepare to meet God. God loves me and everyday he is helping me to do my best, repent, improve, and grow! I KNOW this church is the only true restored church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I've had the opportunity to serve with the women in our church in the Singles Ward and was called as a ward missionary as well. I helped our sisters get comfortable with the rest and aided them when needed. As a ward missionary, I was able to reach out to those who had stopped attendance to motivate them to come back to us and to our Savior Jesus Christ, These have been wonderful opportunities of service, and through them I was able to learn how to be a better instrument in the hands of our Lord.
