Hi I'm Amanda Lou Gunter

I'm a missionary in Independence, Missouri. :) I grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. I love this gospel! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and I absolutely love it. I love doing anything with my family and friends. I love camping, hunting, and spending time outdoors! I have attended Idaho State University for 3 years studying Business. While there, I was an Ambassador...I had the opportunity to take prospective students on tours of the campus. I loved doing that because I got to know so many different people and help them to see the exciting things life has to offer. Currently I am on a mission in Independence Missouri and loving every second of this experience! I love it because just as being an Ambassador, I get to help people and get to know them, but this time I get to help them see why they are important to our Heavenly Father and what potential they have. I get to help them come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ and see they are not alone in life. I love seeing people change through the gospel. When I go home I plan on finishing school, and seeing where life will take me. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me, and I trust in Him and that plan. I am excited to see what that plan is, but for now I am perfectly content here in Independence with my name right next to the Savior's on my name-tag, devoting every minute to His service. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church with my family. But just as with anything else in this life, there comes a time in our lives that we have to decide for ourselves what we are going to believe and live. I never stopped going to church after I started college moved out, but I did start to wonder WHY I kept going. I knew I had a testimony of these things, but what was my personal testimony? I made some choices that left me feeling separated from God. I decided I needed to reach out to Him and see that He was really there, and bring myself closer to avoid feeling alone. Through this experience I found out for myself just how much God really did love me. I was able to feel and see that I am His daughter and He wants me to be close to Him. He is so merciful, forgiving, patient, loving and kind. We all make mistakes in this world, but He will always be there for us when we decide to come closer to Him. Through this experience I finally found and understood MY personal testimony of this gospel. I know that we have a Father in Heaven who is fully aware of us in our joys and pains. He sent His son Jesus Christ to come to this earth to live and die for us, individually. Our Savior Jesus Christ lives and loves us. His Atonement is what makes it possible for us to be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that just as Joseph Smith said, we can come closest to God as we read the Book of Mormon and live by its teachings. I know this gospel is true. It is real. It is the only true and living church on the earth today. I am so grateful for it in my life. I would be lost without it. I feel so blessed to be serving a mission here in Missouri and helping people come closer to Christ and understand His love for them. This gospel changes people. It changed me, and I love watching it change others. :) There truly is no greater joy!

How I live my faith

Before I left home I lived my faith by going to church, fulfilling my callings, and helping my friends better understand what the gospel is all about. I have had many different callings in the church and have had the opportunity to get to know so many different people through those callings. I loved going to institute and learning more about how to live the gospel better each and every day. I am definitely not perfect, but I am constantly doing my best to become better, that is what this life is all about! I have many friends who are not members of this church, but have strong standards and values. I believe I lived my faith by being an example to those around me. That is the best way of teaching! Showing what we believe by the way we live :)
