Hi I'm Elma Jean May

I'm a wife, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. This is what life is all about. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. My parents taught us how to live by the way they lived. We were taught to be kind to others, lend a helping hand to those in need, pay our tithing, and do our best to live the commandments of the Savior. As my husband and I raised our 7 children we did our best to teach them the things we were each taught in our homes.

Why I am a Mormon

I can think of no other way of life that could bring me such peace and comfort. Even when things sometimes get hard, I know that my Savior is aware of me and I can talk to him in prayer any time anywhere. I was born into the church through faithful parents who have been sealed in the temple of God for time and through all eternity. When I leave this earth life I will continue to live and be with family members who have passed from this life and will be there to great all who come after me. What greater blessing than to know that we can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to share my knowledge of the truthfulness of this gospel by working with several different groups. I loved working with the children as a leader and a teacher, I have been able to go into the homes of several women each month to check on their welfare and share an uplifting message or give a helping hand. The group of young women (girls between 12 and 18 years) is always fun. Whether teaching or going to girls camp in the summer as a leader or camp cook always leads to an adventure. By serving others I feel closer to my Savior.
