Hi I'm Natty

I was born and rised in Idaho Falls, ID but in 2012 I moved to Salt Lake. I'm a covert and I was baptized in Feb of 2016.

About Me

My mother has a memeber her whole life and my father was a convert. Sadly he was really as devoted to the church as my mom thought he was. Soon after I was born my father cut our family off from the church. after serval years my mom finally devorced him and she began taking us to church. I had no relious background at all so it seemed really strange to me at first. When my mom invited the missionaries into out home and when I really started to listen to the lessons, it all started to make sense. As if I already knew what was being taught. Soon after reseaving the Bokk of Mormon I had the desire to be baptized. When I asked my father for his permision he turned me down almost imidietly. I continued to ask him for a while but each time the answer was no. I had to wait about 6 years until I was able to be baptized and though those years have been hard, I am grateful for the lessons I've learned in that time. I was baptized on my 18th birthday in Feb of 2016 and have been loving it ever since. Don't get me wrong, life still throughs me curve balls and I still struggle but I am grateful for the gospel in my life and all of the blessings that it gives me. I am currently serving a mission in the Eugene Oregon area.

Why I am a Mormon

Between the ages of 11 and 13 I really struggled with seeing the value of life, especially the value of my own life. I wishes myself dead at times. I didn't understand what great blessings this mortal life had instore for me and that pain I was having could go away. During this time my mom was having the missionaries over so that my little brother and I could be taught the lessons of the church. It took some time, but I began to feel better and I was able to see the hand of God in my life. I was able to see the blessings that he put in my life everyday. In time I had the desire to live again and to see the true worth of the life God had given me. I am a Mormon because God loves me. I know that is aware of me; He is aware of my joy and my pain every day. I am a Mormon because has shown me why I am on the earth at this time and place. He has shown me how I can help and bless others. I am a Mormon because He has taught what true love is; In every sence of the word. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Before I was baptized I really tried to focus on the good things in life and blessings I did have, instead of the bad things and what I didn't have. Though you can't be optimistic all of the time, it really did help me get through those years. I will admit, it hurt every time my friends went to the temple and I had to stay behind or when speakers and/or teachers instructed us to share or look back on our baptisms and I had nothing to share. Though those times were hard, I never dewled on it. I still had great friends, wonderful seminary and sunday lessons, I still had my scriptures and I was learning every day. Now that I am baptized I still try to focus on the good things in life and I keep my daily habits. I always pray by my bed side, I get as much scripture study in as I can each day, and I try to visit the temple often. I'm also focused on service. I'm looking for something I can do for someone else and how I make them smile. I try to be sensitive to the Holy Ghost and his instruction. Each day I do my best. If I fall sort, I've learned a lesson, and I try again tomorrow. And I always use the antonment of Jesus Christ.
