Hi I'm Nani Brun

My name is Nani and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in Hawai'i, there was a lot of playing outside. From an early age I was swimming in the beautiful Pacific Ocean. My family would go on adventures all over the island, up in the mountains in Dad's truck or far out to sea on the boat. My happiest memories involve family adventures..and somehow always getting dirty or soaking wet. Sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember-my favorites are soccer and volleyball. I am a huge USWNT fan!! My fingers are crossed for the World Cup 2015 and Olympics 2016. In addition to a great family, I have been blessed with the very best of friends. They add the so much humor to my life. My family and friends are my inspiration. I want to be a better me for them. I know that through the Savior's Atonement, I can be with these people forever. There is nothing more beautiful to me. I am a convert to the church, and it was the best decision of my life! I know this church is true. My testimony is strong. I love our Heavenly Father with all that I am. I know that He knows and loves each of us in return. I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon was intended for us in these latter-days. Joseph Smith is truly a prophet of God. My heart is full of love for this gospel and the happiness it brings to my days.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Catholic. My family has been Catholic for generations. I attended mass and catechism each week, went to a Catholic school, and was confirmed at 15. However, I knew from a young age that something was missing. I could never explain it. One day my best friend invited me to attend church with her, and I agreed. I knew that she was Mormon, but had no idea what that entailed. To make a long story short, I knew after that first sacrament meeting that I wanted to come back. Over time it became apparent to me that I had found what had been missing in my life all along. I was home. My journey was not without strong opposition (whose is?!), but I'm thankful that I was eventually able to join the church. Any trial is bearable when the Lord is on your team! I LOVE everything about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and could not be more excited to share this gospel with others!! Joining the church has blessed my life immeasurably and I try to live each day in thanksgiving for these blessings. I am a Mormon because this is truly the Lord's church. Now that I have the truth, I cannot imagine life without it. I want to help those who are ready to receive the restored gospel (maybe without even realizing it), just like I was. Being Mormon is AWESOME! Porque no?!

How I live my faith

I strive to emulate Christ in my thoughts, actions, and desires. I am far from perfect so this doesn't always work out, but I will not give up. I know that as long as I'm doing my best, Heavenly Father will help me. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church upon the earth today and I'm grateful to be a member. I know that Jesus Christ is my brother and that He truly died so that I might live eternally. Because of the love He has for me and I for Him, I want to represent Him well. I know that faith compels action, so I'm working on focusing all of my thoughts and actions on Christ. I am currently in the Missionary Training Center preparing to serve an 18 month mission in the beautiful country of Nicaragua (Nicaragua Managua South Mission). I am learning a lot every day and the MTC is a wonderful place to be, but I am so excited to get to Nicaragua!! I want to share the happiness that this gospel has brought me with EVERYONE. I know that everyone deserves the happiness and blessings that have been made available to me through joining this church. I know that families can be together forever through the beautiful Plan of Salvation. Basically I want eternal happiness for everyone- and I know that this is only possible by coming unto Christ and accepting His gospel.
